The solo And for the time being
examines utilizing traces of autobiography as a choreographic setting. From
his interest in autobiographical fiction as a writing practice and the
development of fictional characters based on personal experience, Kaler
creates a dreamlike encounter with a horse – his stage partner and fictional
alter ego.
Creative captions, which Kaler uses to expand the concept of conventional subtitling, establish a parallel narrative level to the intimate events on stage. The play is embedded in a landscape by set designer and visual artist, Stephanie Rauch. Kaler's long-time artistic companion, French music producer rRoxymore, composed the atmospheric electronic soundtrack for the performance.
